Problem: Parsing binary files is quite exhausting. It is not difficult, but you have to code it, compile and link it and test it. If minor changes are done to file format (this is not very real, but can be), you can't use your existing applications. This project will use xml-like text files, that will be used as definition files for specific formats. File will be parsed accorting to these files. You will be able to use variables, loops and simple variable arithmetic to face real file formats. I will focus especially on PE 32 and 64 bit file format. Definition file will be able to handle these two formats, which are not really simple, so it is very likely to be able to handle more file formats. Problems: Specification of simple but powerful definition file. Libraries: spconfig for xml-like definiton file processing State of project: It has been coding for several days, problems: find suitable xml c parsing library, libxml2 and several more were NOT found suitable (problems with linking, compiling even problems during TESTING!), definig definition file ....
